Larry Dean Ruettinger, born on December 9, 1936, in Monroe, MI, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2026, in Newport, MI. A devoted worker, Larry contributed many years of his career at Gruber/Foodtown before retiring, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and hard work.

Larry had a passion for the great outdoors, expressing his love through various hobbies. He enjoyed riding motorcycles alongside his wife and friends, creating cherished memories on the open road. Camping was another beloved pastime for Larry, as he found joy in the simplicity of nature. His garden flourished with colorful flowers, a testament to his nurturing spirit. Larry also found happiness in modeling cars, and he was an avid sports enthusiast, with a particular love for watching NASCAR races.

Larry will be remembered by his loving family, including his children, Deanna (Dan) Richards, Kerri (John) Cousino, Kim (Kenny) Daniels, and Kelly (Tammy) Ruettinger. He was a proud grandfather to Lacey Ferris (Nate Mathis), John (Kelsey) Daniels, Katie Daniels (Matt R.), Nicole Redmond, Jake Redmond, Josh Redmond, Jesse Redmond, Marissa Ruettinger, Jenna Ruettinger, and Brandon Dahl. His legacy continues with his great-grandchildren—Corey Ferris, Drake Ferris, Hailey Ferris, Owen Patterson, Devin Ellison, Eaiden Dahl, Jaxson Dahl, Scarlet, Grayson, Quinley, Josphine, Charleigh, and Kensley—who will carry forward his loving spirit.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herber and Mildred (Slater) Ruettinger, his son Kevin Ruettinger, and his grandson Eric Dahl.

Larry Dean Ruettinger will be remembered for his love of life and family. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
