Larry John Schwark of Caseville, age 76, passed away peacefully with his family by his side in his home in Caseville Sunday. Larry was born on August 1, 1949, to the late John “Jack” and Frances (Weymouth) Schwark and graduated from Marysville High School. Originally enlisting with the Navy Reserves, he was called to active duty in the United States Navy in 1968 and served on the USS Kitty Hawk until his honorable discharge in 1970.
After his service in the military, Larry went to work for Chrysler in Marysville, making himself indispensable in a number of roles throughout the company, retiring from the shipping department. He was active with the UAW Local 375, serving as an attendance councilor. Larry was a proud member of American Legion Post 449 in Marysville, the Caseville Fraternal Order of Eagles #3690, the Loyal Order of Moose, and Scenic Golf and Country Club. He married Mary Eschenberg in August of 2006, and she is left to cherish his memory.
It was important for Larry to stay active in his free time. He enjoyed golfing, going to the casino, and playing Keno. He was a hard worker who loved building things and held a builder’s license which he used to remodel his home on Pine Drive. Larry’s friends meant the world to him, and he loved making countless memories with them whenever he could.
Larry is survived by wife, Mary Schwark; children, Heather Silk and Justin Schwark; stepsons, Kevin (Jennifer) Knox and Chad Knox; grandchildren, Ella, Emilee, Novah, Gunner, and Karleigh; and sisters, Nancy (Charlie) Oles, and Sandy (Robert) Boulton; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
Larry was preceded in death by sister, Cheril Bigger, and granddaughter, Emily Knox.
In accordance with Larry’s wishes, cremation is to take place. A celebration of life for Larry will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at the Caseville Fraternal Order of Eagles #3690, 7017 East Park Street, Caseville. The celebration will begin with an Eagles Ritual at 12:00 p.m., which will be followed by military honors rendered by the United States Navy and American Legion Post 449. Immediately after military honors the family invites friends and loved ones to continue sharing stories and memories of Larry at the Eagles for a luncheon until 3:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family, with checks payable to Heather Silk.
