Larry Q. Sproles, 78, of Baldwinsville, passed away peacefully on Thursday at St. Joseph's Health Hospital with his loving wife by his side. Born in Spartanburg, SC, Larry grew up in Cowpens, SC, before making the Syracuse area his home for the past 28 years. A proud graduate of Cowpens High School, Larry went on to attend Clemson University before earning his bachelor’s degree from Marshall University. Throughout his life, he maintained a deep connection to his roots, remaining a member of Cowpens Baptist Church.
Larry enjoyed a long career as a manufacturing engineer, retiring after decades of dedicated service. In retirement, he continued to be an active part of the Syracuse community, working at the JMA Wireless Dome in Guest Services. His love for sports was apparent, especially his passion for Syracuse University athletics, where he enjoyed cheering on the Orange. He also enjoyed cheering on his favorite NFL team, the Kansas City Chiefs.
Above all, Larry cherished spending time with the love of his life, Kathy. Together, they shared many beautiful memories, and his devotion to her was unwavering.
Larry will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. His kindness, humor, and loyalty will be remembered by those whose lives he touched.
