Larry Senter, Sr.

Benson, NC:  Larry Robert Senter, Sr., age 72, passed away Sunday at SECU Hospice Center in Smithfield. Funeral Services  will be held  at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 1140 B. H. Parrish Rd, Benson, NC.  Private  burial will follow in Devotional Gardens. A Celebration of Life Reception in Larry's memory will be held after the service in the fellowship hall. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. Timothy Bass. Larry was born January 22, 1942  in Harnett County to the late,  William and Ethel Green Senter.   He was preceded in death by  brothers, James Harvey Senter & Billy Howard Senter.  Larry grew up in the Fuquay area and lived there until 1982.  Larry  retired as a Supervisor at ARS (formerly Metro Heating & Air Conditioning, owner, Jake Williamson, Sr).   After retirement Larry & Joyce traveled a lot and enjoyed their family life together.  Larry also restored to perfection, old gas pumps and old tractors.  Larry was very active in Lighthouse Baptist Church.         Surviving are wife of 31 years, Joyce Lee Senter; daughter, Melessia May of Willow Spring; special daughter, Sherry Newman of Willow Spring; sons, Larry Robert Senter, Jr., Samuel Martin Senter, Van Richard Senter; sisters, Jeanette S. Blanchard of Fuquay Varina, Nancy S. Arnold of Benson, Suzanne S. Phillips of Clayton; brothers, Jodie William Senter of Raleigh, Jerry Morris Senter of Garner, Robert Grayson Senter of Holly Springs.         In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials "In memory of Larry Robert Senter, Sr." to SECU Hospice Center,  PO Box 1376,  Smithfield, NC  27577.
