Larry Joseph Stamper, 70, of Glen Dale, WV, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at his home.
He was born on September 23, 1954, in Charleston, WV, son of the late Homer and Catherine Belcastro Stamper.
Larry was a Navy Veteran, a retired Engineer for Westlake Chemical in Proctor, WV, and a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church.
He enjoyed listening to albums, tinkering with stereo equipment and watching WVU sports on TV.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jeanette Divita; and two brothers-in-law, Robert DeTemple and Geoff Wiggins.
Larry is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Paula Jo DeTemple Stamper; three daughters, Maddeline Stamper, Katherine Stamper, and Rachel Stamper; sister, Brenda Wiggins; sister-in-law, Bonny (Sam) DeTemple; many nieces and nephews; and many loving cats and dogs.
Friends will be received for a Memorial Visitation on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 from 10:00 AM until the time of the Memorial Mass at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 690 Mt. Olivet Road, Wheeling, WV with Father Tijo George officiating. The Moundsville Veteran Honor Guard will conduct military services at the church.
Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 690 Mt. Olivet Road, Wheeling, WV 26003 and Webark Estates, P.O. Box 918, Moundsville, WV 26041.
