Larry R. Stephenson, 86, Fowlerton, passed away at 10:06 pm on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at Marion Health East in Gas City. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on Saturday, April 15, 1939, to Edward and Mary (Detamore) Stephenson. He married Juanita Swim and she preceded him.

Larry graduated from Mississinewa HS and worked at Hanes & Owens. He came from a big family and had a very ornery personality. Juanita and Larry were married for 61 years. He enjoyed westerns, especially the show, Gun Smoke. He liked to go fishing. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and family including his dogs, Cory and Brody.

Survivors include his grandchildren, Jason Lowe, Adam Lowe, Kimberly (Tim) Bickel; great-grandchildren, Jozlyn Lowe, Lucian Lowe, Josiah Lowe, Skyler Lowe, Lexie Bickel, Jesse Bickel, Ryker Lowe, and Mavrick Lowe.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward H. and Mary Opal Stephenson; wife, Juanita Stephenson; daughter, Tracy (Don) Brown; brothers, John Stephenson, Joe Stephenson, Jack Edward Stephenson, Walter Stephenson, Roy Stephenson, Richard Stephenson, Harry Stephenson, Gary Stephenson, Paul Stephenson; sisters, Leona Dixon, Lenora Sapp, Marlene Quinn, Ruby Wheelin, and Deloris Stephenson.

The family will receive visitors from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, Storey Chapel 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.

Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Larry's life will begin at 6:00 pm with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating. Burial will take place at a later time at Marion National Cemetery.
