Larry John Stewart , 68, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the Taylor House, in Des Moines, IA on August 2nd, 2025.

Larry was born in Des Moines, IA to Irene Wood and John Stewart on December 25, 1956. Larry loved to spend time with his family. He had the biggest heart and would help anyone. He loved to go to car auctions and enjoyed working on cars. He also enjoyed fishing and going on car rides. He loved going camping. He cherished his family and loved his children and grandchildren more than anything.

He is survived by his wife Concetta Stewart, brother George Stewart, 8 children, John (Katie), Michael, Bryan (Brooke), Mindy (John), Heather, Melissa (Allen), Michelle, and Kyle (Dayesha), 23 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild on the way. He is also survived by a host of extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Irene Stewart, sisters; Gayla, Bertha, and Madeline, close family friends; Brandon Mitchell and Kyle Houge.

There will be an Open House Wednesday, August 6th, 2025 from 11am - 2pm at Iles Dunn's Chapel at 2121 Grand Ave, Des Moines, IA, followed by the burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery at 3601 E. Court Ave, Des Moines, IA at 2:30 pm.
