Larry Wayne Tate, age 71, went to be with his lord and Savior on December 6, 2022. He was born on November 12, 1951, to Bob and Helen (Rantz) Tate.
Larry grew up in Spokane, Missouri where he graduated from Spokane High school in 1969. After high school, he attended Southwest Missouri State also known as Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri. After attending college, he decided to be an owner operator in the trucking Industry. He drove over the road for over 30 Years. Larry was an avid outdoors man who enjoyed going on trips to Idaho to hunt Elk with his cousins at their cabin. He loved to spend time with his sons fishing in his spare time. Larry loved his sons, but absolutely enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, traveling and watching them play ball games. In the last couple of years Larry met his partner and best friend Sandy Byrd. Together they enjoyed spending time working on projects, camping, and enjoying time with their families.
He is survived by his father Bob Tate; partner in crime Sandy Byrd; son Josh Tate and wife Michelle (Highlandville); son Ben Tate and wife Sarah (California); son Ryan Tate and wife Shelby (Spokane); son Cody McCandless and Megan Phillips (Kansas City); grandchildren Paige Tate, JD Tate, Veneta Tate, Bennett Tate (Dude), Reagan Tate, Reese Tate, Brayden, Brantley, Tatum, Everett McCandless, and Jayden Davidson.
He is preceded in death by his mother Helen Tate and brother Charles Tate.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Spokane Owls Athletic Booster Club.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. Funeral services will be held on Sunday December 11, 2022, at 2:00 pm, at Spokane First Baptist Church. Burial will follow the service at Spokane Cemetery.
