Larry E. Teter, 80, of Peculiar, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2026, at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg, Missouri. He had been a resident of the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg for the past 3 years.

Larry was born on May 30, 1945, in Chariton County, Missouri the son of JW (Bill) and Juanita (Wilson) Teter. On September 19, 1965, he married Carol June (Mooneyham) Teter in Woodville, Missouri.

Survivors include his daughter, Kristina (James) Wornson; son Jeffrey Teter; grandchildren, Jacob Wornson, Samuel Wornson and Lilly Wornson. Larry is also survived by his sister-in-law Linda Wood, brother-in-law David Mooneyham, and many, many nieces and nephews who thought the world of "Uncle Larry".

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Keri Michelle Teter.

Larry was born and spent his childhood in the Thomas Hill area of Chariton County, Missouri. He graduated from Salisbury High School in 1963. He married Carol June Mooneyham in September 1965 and they lived in Macon, Missouri until he was drafted into the United States Army. He was stationed in Fort Lewis in Tacoma, Washington and later Fort Leonard Wood in Waynesville, Missouri. Larry was discharged from the service in 1967 and they returned to Macon and later moved to Huntsville, Missouri. Larry worked at DuPont as a Fork Lift Mechanic in Moberly, Missouri from 1970 to 1990 and then transferred to Fort Madison, Iowa and Front Royal, Virginia until his retirement in 2001. Larry and June returned to Missouri where they have lived for the past 24 years. During his retirement, he continued in various jobs until he retired again from ADESA Car Auction in Belton, Missouri. Larry's hobbies included yardwork, tinkering in his shop, drinking beer, enjoying a swig of Kentucky moonshine, working puzzles, and watching his grandchildren participate in sporting activities.

Larry was a member of the First Church of Peculiar, Masonic Lodge, and Order of the Eastern Star.

A celebration of life will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026, at 9:30 a.m., at the First Church of Peculiar in Peculiar, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg, Missouri in his memory.
