Doris Evelyn Eiserer

1932 - 2026

Doris Evelyn Eiserer passed away Friday, March 13, 2026 in Overland Park, KS.

Doris was born June 30, 1932 as Doris Evelyn Newton, the youngest of 3 children. Her parents, Garnett S. and Nell E. Newton (Mead) preceded her in death as did her two older brothers Marvin and Wayne. Doris graduated from the Tina, MO high school in 1950 then briefly worked and studied at business school in Kansas City. On October 21, 1951 she married Harold N. Eiserer. They were married until his passing on July 17, 2015. Doris and Harold had 1 son, Dwight R. Eiserer (Dick).

The family lived on a farm near Hale and Tina, MO until moving to Warrensburg, MO in 1963. Soon after arriving in Warrensburg, Doris started to work at what was then known as Central Missouri State College, first in the Financial Aid office but she later transferred to become the campus central telephone operator. Her work as the main telephone operator allowed her to be in contact with innumerable people who soon learned to enjoy her friendly and helpful personality as she directed calls all over the campus to the appropriate offices. Doris retired from the University in 1998.

After her and Harold's retirement, they had opportunities to do a bit of Midwest travel and enjoy time with their grandsons Kyle and Chris. They would take the boys on trips through southern Missouri to take in the scenery or go fishing at a friend's lake in the country. Both of her grandsons still have fond memories of those times with Grandma and Grandpa.

Doris loved to host holiday meals and would cook and prepare all sorts of food items for her family. She would absolutely fill a table with choices trying to make everybody's favorite dish available. She always made sure to note and celebrate her family's Birthdays and other occasions either in person, by calling or by sending a card to let the lucky person that she was thinking of them whether she could be with them or not.

Doris and Harold left Warrensburg in 2014 to live in Olathe, KS. The move brought them closer to Dick and Mary Kay so that they could have some help navigating life as health issues began to arise. After Harold's passing in 2015, Doris maintained her social life with people living around her. She was known and loved by the staff at her living facility because of her friendly nature and ability and willingness to talk about nearly everything. Doris passed peacefully Friday, March 13, 2026 with family at her bedside. She is survived by her son Dick and his wife Mary Kay, grandson Kyle Eiserer, his wife Ericka, and great grandsons Brody and Nolan of Riverside, MO and grandson Chris Eiserer, his wife Nadine and great grandson Rhett and great granddaughter Rhea of Dallas, TX.

A graveside service will be held at 11 :00am on Saturday March 21, 2026 at the Blue Mound Cemetery, Dawn, MO. Donations may be sent to the Dementia Society of America at www.dementiasociety.org or to St Jude's Hospital at WVvw.stiude.org which Doris enjoyed supporting.
