Gary Eiserer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Thurman Funeral Home - Richmond on Nov. 27, 2024.
Gary Gail Eiserer, 77, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, surrounded by his devoted family. Born and raised in Carrollton, Missouri, Gary was the fourth of 11 children, growing up in a close-knit family on a humble farm.
Gary often reminisced about his childhood, sharing that his family was so poor they sometimes slept in the chicken coop. These humble beginnings instilled in him a relentless work ethic, one that he carried throughout his life and passed down to his children.
In La Marque, Texas, Gary met Bonnie, a dedicated teacher who would become the love of his life. The couple married in 1969 and began a life built on faith, love, and devotion. A man of great faith, Gary was steadfast in his love for Jesus Christ and shared his testimony with those around him.
A man of quiet demeanor, Gary let his actions speak louder than words. Yet, when he did speak, his profound thoughts often emerged in the form of poetry, revealing his artistic soul.
For over 50 years, Gary worked as a cross-country pipe liner, gaining widespread respect as an exceptional operator with a talent for moving dirt with precision. His skills were unmatched, and his passion for his craft inspired many, including his nephews, son, and grandson, who shared his love for "playing in the dirt." Gary was a proud member of Local 101 in Kansas City and Local 450 in Texas, forming bonds of camaraderie in his long career.
Gary is survived by his four children: Tanya Eiserer of Arlington, Texas; Cecil Eiserer and his wife, Sharona, of Carrollton, Missouri; Danyelle Strider and her husband, Brian, of Richmond, Missouri; and Brittany Maldonado and her husband, Javier, of Republic, Missouri. He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and eight of his beloved siblings.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Connie Stark and infant sister, Mary Beth Eiserer.
Gary's legacy of hard work, humility, faith, and love for family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Living Hope Assembly of God Church in Carrollton. They can be left at or mailed to Thurman Funeral Home, 507 East Main Street-P.O. Box 190, Richmond, MO 64085.
