Michael Eiserer, age 76, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023, with his loving family at his side. Michael was born on August 10, 1947, in San Antonio, Texas to Elmer and Victoria Pollok Eiserer.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Victoria Eiserer and his brother, Marshall Eiserer.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Mary Sekula Eiserer; children, Rex (Johanna) Eiserer, Anna (Kevin) Campbell, Tami Eiserer; grandchildren, Jake Campbell, Luke Campbell, Garrett Eiserer, Dagen Eiserer, Maren Eiserer; brother, Curtis (Mary Anne) Eiserer. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, which he had special bonds with and many other family, and friends.
Michael was a lifelong hard worker starting with his first job as a paper boy throwing papers all across the San Antonio south side. He was always curious to understand how things work and he spent numerous hours in his parents' garage taking things apart and putting them back together. After graduating from La Salle High School, Michael began his mechanical tinkering career at Samuel's Glass Company installing automatic doors. Building on his natural ability to fix things, he was soon accepted to the Machinist Apprenticeship program at Kelly Air Force Base. There he began building his skills that led to his 35 years inventing and creating scientific apparatuses used by the Air Force in medical research for space travel. He was instrumental in building exercise equipment, oxygenators, mechanical lungs and various other equipment that aided astronauts during training and while in space on both Space Lab and multiple Space Shuttles. Michael also applied his mechanical skills to being a custom gunsmith, specializing in precision target rifles for 4-H youth shooting clubs where he even spent time as a coach. Michael was an avid outdoors-man and relished every minute on the coast fishing, sitting in a deer blind, or walking through a field, all with either his son, daughters, grandsons, nephews, or some other family member next to him enjoying his company. Michael's passion for enjoying life was seen and shared by all around him. His family, relatives, and friends are truly grateful to have been part of his time on earth and his teachings and coaching will continue to survive.
A visitation will be held on Friday, December 29, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at Vinyard Funeral Home Chapel, Texas. A rosary will be recited there, beginning at 7:00 PM. The Funeral Mass will be held the following day at 10:00 AM, on December 30, 2023 at St Anthony Catholic Church in

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or San Antonio Humane Society.
