Larry Wayne Turner, age 68, of Dover, TN, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025, at Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN, surrounded by his devoted family. He was born on June 28, 1957, the son of Samuel (Eugene) and Betty Burkhart Turner.
Larry carried on his family's proud tradition in Turner Logging, learning the trade from the best-his father. After his father's passing, Larry continued working as a skilled and dedicated equipment operator and logger, respected by all who knew him. He was a graduate of Stewart County High School, class of 1975.
A man of strong faith, Larry loved the Lord and served faithfully at Indian Mound Community Church. He was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, and grandfather whose greatest joy came from his family. He and his wife, Brenda, treasured their vacations together and especially cherished the times when their children brought the grandchildren home for visits-creating memories that filled his heart with joy.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel (Eugene) and Betty Turner; his brother, Jeff Turner; and sisters, Brenda Smith and Rita Hammonds.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Brenda Turner; son, Josh Turner (April); daughter, Rebecca Summers (Chris), both of Dover, TN; and his grandchildren, Maria Summers, Jonathan Summers, and Tyler Wright.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 12, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Anglin Funeral Home. Visitation will continue Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., with Bro. Phillip Chambers officiating. Burial will follow at Dunbar Chapel Cemetery in Indian Mound, TN. Pallbearers will be Josh Turner, Jonathan Summers, Chris Summers, Tyler Wright, Tim Smith, and Chris Felts. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Wilson and Teddy Smith.
