Larry Stewart Ulery of Berrien Springs passed away suddenly on Dec. 6, 2023.
Larry was a beloved father, brother and friend who will be remembered for his gentle spirit and commitment to service and his unwavering faith.
Larry was born in St. Joseph to Bruce and Mary Ulery.
He honorably served in the U.S. Army, and after his service, Larry diligently pursued his higher education. It was during his time at Andrews University where met and married the love of is life, Lally John, in 1980, in Pune, India. Their union was blessed with two beautiful children: Shawn and Richelle.
Larry had a fulfilling career as a professor at Lake Michigan College, Western Michigan University and Andrews University. He found solace and strength in reading his Bible and was a faithful member of the Adventist Church for most of his life. Larry enjoyed working out at the YMCA and frequently walked at Silver Beach in St. Joseph. Larry was a big fan of sports, both as a player and fan. Larry most enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Larry touched the lives of so many and we celebrate a life well-lived. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lally and his parents.
He is survived by his children: Shawn Ulery and Richelle (Shaun) Kuriata; his siblings: Jim, Ron (Betty), and Harry, and a host of family and friends.
Arrangements have been made with Allred Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 17, at Pioneer Memorial Church in Berrien Springs. Public visitation will be two hours before the service. www.Allred FuneralHome.com.
