Larry Warner Obituary

Larry Allen Warner

January 17, 1947 - May 24, 2025

Larry Allen Warner, 78, of Lincoln, Nebraska, the son of Virginia and Harold Winter, passed away on May 24, 2025. He was born on January 17, 1947, and graduated from Eagle High School. Larry worked at Lincoln Electric System for many years where he met lifelong friends.

He spent his younger years growing up on the family farm, where he developed a strong work ethic and a natural talent for fixing just about anything. Whether it was repairing cars or taking care of things around the house, Larry was known for his skillful hands.

On May 7, 1971, Larry married the love of his life, Gloria (Glasson) Warner. Last year, they celebrated 53 years of marriage-a beautiful milestone in a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure.

Larry had a deep love for the outdoors. He especially enjoyed fishing at lakes across Nebraska with his son and proudly earned a number of Master Angler awards. He and Gloria also shared a passion for road trips, often traveling together to explore the scenic beauty of Nebraska and Colorado.

While Larry had many interests such as the Fourth of July and Christmas, his greatest joy in life was his family-particularly the time he spent with his four beloved grandchildren: Hattie, Jacob, June, and Harvey. He also had a soft spot for his grand-dogs, who brought him much happiness. Known for his orneriness and quick wit, Larry was a true practical joker who loved to smile, laugh, and especially enjoyed making others laugh. His sense of humor and joyful spirit brought happiness to everyone around him.

Larry's last three years were spent living at Legacy Terrace Retirement Community. His family is deeply grateful to the staff and residents who treated him with such warmth and care during his time there.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Larry Lee and Shana Warner of Lincoln; his daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Mark Bohac of Wahoo; and his son and daughter-in-law, Erich and Julia Warner of Blair; and his cherished grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Gloria Warner; and by his parents, Virginia and Harold Winter. Larry's sense of humor, deep love for his family (including the four-legged ones), and kindhearted personality will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 30th at the Lauber Funeral Home in Milford, Nebraska. Visitation: Thursday, May 29th from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Lauber Funeral Home, Milford. Family will greet and receive friends and relatives from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Blue Mound Cemetery, Milford, NE, following the Funeral Service.

Memorials are to be given to the family for a future designation.

It was fun to see Larry and reminisce with him the years he went to high school in Eagle. Verl was his teacher and he was occasionally getting into trouble. We lived with him at the Legacy Terrace for a year.
