Larry Lee Wieman

March 30, 1947 – February 27, 2026

ZEBULON – Larry Lee Wieman, 78, stepped into heaven on Friday, February 27, 2026. He was born in Lamar, CO, on March 30, 1947; son of the late Sy William and Elizabeth Bell Wieman.

Larry is survived by his wife of almost 53 years, Leslie Boggs Wieman; children Mark, Jeff (spouse Grace & grandchildren Caleb, Brannigan, Mason and Harper), Heather (spouse Jay Hayes & grandchild Logan) and Larry's brother Terry Wieman. Larry is preceded in death by siblings Derald William, Donald Ralph (Don) and Virginia Ann (Jeannie).

Larry grew up in Lamar, Colorado and went to school in Granada. His family lived on a ranch and did dry land farming. Larry went on from there to work hard for years in structural steel and fabrication. Larry started his own business in steel and fabrication in the Colorado Springs area, and was considered a hardworking and honorable businessman in the industry. He enjoyed raising his family in Black Forest and then later in Simla, Colorado. Larry supported his children in their sports, 4-H, school and ranch life endeavors. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed trips to the mountains of Colorado. He also enjoyed traveling with Leslie and took their 5th wheel all over the country where they enjoyed seeing all the sites and eating all of the food. He loved good food, especially ice cream.

In 2014, Larry and Leslie moved to Zebulon, North Carolina to be closer to daughter Heather. Larry was an amazing grandfather to his five beloved grandchildren. He always made each one feel special and loved and he was an example of kindness and great generosity to his family. He was a wise man in the ways of navigating life, and always had thoughts or ideas to share if asked. He will be deeply missed by those who loved him. His family is proud of him and thankful that they were able to have Larry Lee Wieman in their lives.

There is no public service scheduled, but there will be a private family celebration of life in the future.

Arrangements are entrusted to Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory. 211 West Third Street, Wendell, NC 27591. www.stricklandfuneral.com.
