Evelyn ''Larue'' Newton Bashaw, 72, of Kerrville, Texas, passed away in her home on April 22, 2025, with her beloved husband, Robert Bashaw III, gently holding her hand.
Larue was born on September 18, 1952, in Marfa, Texas, to Lloyd Vick Newton and Maxine Tietschert Newton.
She graduated from Marfa High School. She worked for Joske's Department Store in San Antonio and Dallas, TX. Following that, she worked for Eye Care Centers of America and ultimately at Bashaw Business Services. She enjoyed golfing and wine events with friends and family. ''Aunt Kanga'' was never happier than when she was surrounded by the laughter, love, and warmth of her family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father; stepfather, Fox Parker; stepbrother, Foxy Parker; sister, Elizabeth Stewart; brother, Timothy Newton; and sister-in-law, Brenda Newton.
Survivors include husband, Robert A. Bashaw III; stepdaughter, Martha Graves (Brad); stepson, Kevin Bashaw; brother, Royce Newton; brother, David Newton (Sheryl); grandchildren, Bryan, Adam, and Elena; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on April 28, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Bandera, TX. A celebration of life will be held at 11:30 AM at St. Joseph's Hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in Bandera, TX.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville.
