LaRue F. Buck, 79 of James St. Milton entered into eternal rest on September 6, 2025 at his home. Born in Williamsport on August 15, 1946, he was the son of the late William M. and Esther (Day) Buck. He was married on April 18, 1969 to the former Virginia Hause who survives.
LaRue was a 1965 graduate of Montgomery High School. He served honorably in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and was one of the lucky ones to return home. LaRue had his own painting business in Milton for many years, then he worked at Milton Manufacturing before retiring from Bucknell University. He loved music and dancing. LaRue owned and restored the engines and bodies of many antique cars and enjoyed taking them for a drive, especially his 1957 Buick. He was a member of the Marine Corps League and was the head of their honor guard for many years. LaRue was a true craftsman, a carpenter, painter, plumber, and electrician who built most of his house.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia; a son, George Buck and wife, Stacy of Georgia; three daughters, Lea Buck, and Jeannette Buck both of Virginia and Tammy Heeman of Picture Rocks; four grandchildren, Alexander Buck, Mackenzie Buck, Lindsey Winters, and Kayley Harte; and a sister, Freda M. Koch of Danville.
LaRue was preceded in death by his parents; and five brothers, William, Norman, Russell, and Paul Buck, and Wayne Starr.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 12 in Harmony Cemetery in Milton.
