LaUna Jean Eatherly was born on May 26, 1939 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was the only child of her beloved parents, Robert Burke and Aurelia Hortense Eatherly. She spent her childhood in Chattanooga where she would go on to attend Edmondson Business College. Jean was married for almost 55 years to her loving husband, Mike, and was the proud mother of four children.

Jean was surrounded by her children and other loved ones when she went home to be with our Lord on Sunday, October 5. Jean is now reunited in Heaven with her husband who preceded her in death in April, 2024. Together, they share eternal joy, leaving behind a legacy of love cherished by family and friends including daughter Robin; sons Mike Jr, Bob, and Mike; grandchildren April, Brandon, Christina, DJ, Jesse, Katie, Macayla, Michael, Ryan, Taylor, TJ, and Tori; great grandchildren Austin, Axle, Baylie, Campbell, Connelly, Cooper, Harrison, Kendall, Maisie, Nova, Paisley, Remy, Walker, Weston, and Wyatt; nieces Denise, Karri, Kelli, Lisa, and Michelle.

Jean was a whirlwind of creativity, channeling her inner artist into every corner of her life with the same skills and infectious enthusiasm she inherited from her father, "Daddy Burke." Whether restoring a weathered antique chair to its former glory or transforming an old teacup into a whimsical flowerpot, Jean had an uncanny knack for breathing new life into forgotten treasures-always splashed with bright, cheerful colors that could make even the gloomiest day feel like a summer picnic. And let's not forget her sacred "reading room," a cozy nook overflowing with books that spanned mysteries to memoirs, where Jean would curl up for hours, lost in worlds that fueled her boundless imagination.

As a spirit-filled devotee of the Lord, Jean lived her faith with the kind of bold joy that turned everyday moments into divine adventures. Teaming up with one of her best friends, Mary Ann, she fearlessly ventured into prison ministry, offering prayers and laughter that lit up the darkest spaces, and on sunnier days, they'd hit the farmers market like a dynamic duo of holy hecklers- pausing at every stall to boldly pray for perfect peaches or a bumper crop of kindness. Jean's love for Jesus wasn't the quiet type; it was the sort that spilled over into spontaneous hallelujahs at family dinners or impromptu blessings for the grocery clerk having a rough shift. She approached everyone with open arms and an open heart, reminding us all that heaven's got a spot for the colorful, the crafty, and the courageously prayerful.

In her golden years and on her trusty laptop, Jean discovered the "World Wild Web" with the glee of a kid unwrapping toys on Christmas morning. This digital awakening flung open the gates to national politics, where she'd sip her morning coffee while scrolling headlines faster than a caffeinated squirrel. An ardent admirer of President Trump, Jean saw in him a kindred spirit of unapologetic flair and fighting spirit.

Family and friends are invited to a brief graveside service on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at 11:00 am at Georgia National Cemetery, 1080 Scott Hudgens Dr, Canton, GA 30114. A celebration of Jean's life is scheduled for Saturday, November 1, 2025, 1:00 pm at Central Church, 11157 City Pond Rd, Covington, GA 30014.
