Laura Bell Daniel (Nanny) passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at the age of 89.

Laura Bell was born in Alpharetta, Georgia and resided in Cumming. She was a longtime member of Longstreet Baptist Church.  She is preceded in death by her mother, Bessie Padgett, father, Phillip Padgett, husband, Robert E. Daniel, son, Glenn Daniel and daughter, Sue Sims.

She is survived by her daughter Jan (Joe) Pline sister, Marie Hughes, Son-in-Law, Jeff Sims Grandchildren, Brandon Sims, Cassie (Graham) Burns, Jodi (Evan) Brown and Great-Granddaughters, Sabyn Sims, Harper Jo Brown and Carter Jo Burns.

In early adulthood, Laura Bell worked at The Roswell Pants Factory. Later in life, she became a school bus monitor and retired after 13 years of dedication. She spent some of her days babysitting young children from the community in her home. She also worked at the Longstreet Church preschool -even into her early 80’s.

Laura Bell, better known to everyone as Nanny, adored her cat of 20 years, Kitty Bell. She loved to mail cards for any occasion. She would proudly end each card with her signature and a sticker of a cat resembling Kitty Bell. She could often be found working in her yard, grabbing lunch with a friend, reading a book or going anywhere anyone asked her to go.

She had a magnetic personality that drew everyone in, she never met a stranger. To know her was to love her.  When we asked Nanny what she would like people to remember about her, she simply said “that I loved to laugh and carry on”

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 14th, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Longstreet Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Bennett officiating.  The interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Monday, January 13th, 2025, from 12:00 PM until 9:00 PM, and again on Tuesday, from 9:00 AM until the hour of service.
