In Loving Memory of Laura Floyd Davis
Laura Floyd Davis, a beacon of light, love and strength, was born on July 1, 1968, in Tehran, Iran, and peacefully passed away on January 26, 2024, in her sleep at her home in Boerne, Texas.
At the age of 12, Laura faced a life-altering diagnosis of Type 1 Diabetes, setting the course for her remarkable journey. Undeterred, she embraced the challenges and found resilience at Texas Lions Camp for Diabetic Children. This transformative experience not only shaped her approach to health but also inspired her lifelong commitment to the field of medicine.
Laura's dedication to her chosen path was evident as she completed medical school in 1995 and became a pediatrician in San Antonio, dedicating the last 26 years of her life to caring for children. Her impact reached far beyond the medical realm; she was a source of comfort, healing, and inspiration to countless families.
Texas Lions Camp not only influenced Laura's professional life but also played a significant role in her personal journey. It was here that she forged lifelong friendships and, in 1989, met her former husband, Ross Davis. Their 26-year union brought forth the greatest joy of Laura's life, her son Mason Edwin Davis, born in 2002. Mason, her medical miracle, became the passion that fueled her every day.
Laura was a kind, caring, and passionate soul. Her selfless service, thoughtfulness, and perpetual curiosity defined her character. As a physician, she possessed a deep sense of empathy that resonated with everyone she encountered. Laura was a lifelong learner, always exploring alternative methods to enhance her health and wellness, embodying the values she instilled in her patients.
She is survived by her beloved son, Mason Edwin Davis; her sisters, Leslie Matiacio and husband Joe and Leigh Floyd Llano and husband Jorge; and her parents, Edwin and Virginia Floyd of Boerne. Laura's legacy lives on in the hearts of those who loved her, and her memory will forever be a source of inspiration.
A memorial service to celebrate Laura's extraordinary life will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Ebensberger Fisher Funeral Home in Boerne, Texas. The family requests that donations be made to Texas Lions Camp, continuing Laura's legacy of support for those facing similar challenges.

Dr Davis was the most wonderful doctor to our 3 children (99, 06, 08). She was sweet, compassionate and empathetic, always. We were disappointed when we heard of her retirement but understood. And extremely saddened to hear of her passing. Many blessings and prayers to her family. Ynclan-Gonzales Family

I am just right now find out about her passing and I am very saddened about this news. I remember Dr. Davis coming to the hospital to check on my 2 babies when they were born. I was calling her former practice to make an appointment for my day and thought about her and looked up her name and I couldn´t believe what I was reading. She did such a good job taking care of my kids as they were growing up. She will always been in my heart for she did for them.
My condolences to the family R.I.P. Dr. Davis

I just found out of Dr. Davis' passing. My daughter who is 19 now was a patient of hers and so was my son who is 11. My mom just took my son to the office and found out. I truly love her. My daughter does too. I am so very sorry for everyone's loss. She talked about her son a lot and my heart goes out to him. I will say a prayer for everyone. She was more than just our doctor. So much more.

My family and I are so deeply saddened to hear of Dr. Davis´ passing. She was my son´s pediatrician for 9 years, and she was such an important part of our family. We almost lost our son at 7 weeks old due to RSV and we will never forget the care and empathy we received from Dr. Davis. As a mom, she always made me feel seen and heard, and always reassured me that I was doing my absolute best. We are heartbroken for her son and family and will continue to pray for their peace and comfort. Dr. Davis, thank you for having such a profound impact on my son and on all of us. Forever in our hearts. Rest easy.

Many, many thoughts and prayers to the family of Dr. Davis. Dr. Davis was the pediatrician for my 3 kids, so I saw her regularly for all sorts of issues for the past 16+ years before she left the practice that she was with. She was always very kind and caring, and listened to all of our concerns without rushing us out the door. She offered us tremendous help and reassurances for many years! She was an excellent doctor and will truly be missed.

My sincere condolences to the family. I met Dr. Davis at the clinic where I take my kids. She impacted my life personally the very first time I met her. She recognized that I was having a difficult time and offered nothing but warmth and kindness. Each time I would see her she was encouraging and took the time to connect mom to mom. She shared with me she had a son and that she understood how the role of motherhood can be scary and wonderful. She was a safe space and listened with compassion. She connected so well with my kids and I would request her every chance I got. Last time I saw her she gave me a bottle of water because she heard me tell my daughter I was thirsty. So sweet, she will absolutely be missed. Thank you Dr. Davis for shining your light of kindness.
