Laura Margaret "Stockman" Floyd

Funeral services for Laura Margaret Maples Floyd, 98, of Ferriday, LA will be held at Faith Tabernacle on Sunday, February 1, 2026 at 11AM with Bro. Matthew Hutto and Bro. Leighton Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Huffman Cemetery in Manifest, LA under the direction of Young's Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday from 10AM until service time at 11AM.

Margaret was born on Sunday, May 29, 1927 in Harrisonburg, LA and passed away Friday, January 30, 2026 in Ferriday, LA. Margaret was a godly woman whose life was rooted in faith, love, and quiet devotion. She found great joy in attending church at Faith Tabernacle, where she faithfully worshipped her Lord and drew strength from her church family. Her faith guided her daily life and was evident in the kindness and grace she showed to everyone she met. Margaret had a gentle spirit and a creative heart; she loved crocheting and quilting, carefully stitching warmth and love into every piece she made. She also enjoyed spending peaceful hours reading, always appreciating a good book. One of her simple pleasures was enjoying a plate of her favorite fried fish, a meal that brought her comfort and happiness. Above all else, Margaret cherished her family. She deeply loved spending time with them, creating memories filled with laughter, warmth, and togetherness. Her love, faith, and gentle presence will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is reunited with her husbands, BB Maples and William "Bill" Alton Floyd; daughter, Barbara Maples; and step-brother, Edward Stockman.

Those left behind to cherish Margaret's memories are her daughters, Gracie Hudson and Doris Hanchey; sons, Johnny Maples & his wife Donna, Robert Maples & his wife Shirley; daughter, Carolyn Breithaupt & her husband Glen; son, Donnie Maples & his wife Beverly; step-daughter, Verlie Elliott; grandchildren, Dewayne, Darryl, Rose, Nicole, Courtney, Johnny, Jr., Jennie, Robert, Jr., Charity, Anthony, Susan, Chad, Sean, Cheryl, and Cheree; host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Those honoring Margaret as pallbearers are Lil John Maples, Bobby Maples, Anthony Breithaupt, Sean Maples, Chad Maples, and Courtney Cockerham.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dewayne Lincecum and Darryl Lincecum.
