Laura Parmington Hall, 34, of Upper Saranac Lake, NY, passed away on December 2, 2025. Her passing follows a lifelong, fearless battle with Autosomal Recessive Polycystic Kidney Disease, a journey she navigated with extraordinary courage and a quiet strength that touched the lives of everyone she met.
Born and raised in East Aurora, NY, Laura’s heart was always in the Adirondacks. She spent her childhood summers on Upper Saranac Lake before becoming a full time resident as an adult. The lake served as her sanctuary, a place where she cultivated a deep love for the outdoors.
Laura was a woman of immense determination. She attended Trocaire College, Daemen College and Carlow University, earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and becoming a Registered Nurse. In a full circle moment, she fulfilled her lifelong dream of becoming a nurse and caring for patients on the transplant floor at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, the very same unit where she had received a liver transplant at age 14. She offered her patients not just medical care, but the unique empathy of someone who had walked in their shoes.
She spent many happy summers, during high school and college, working at The Wild Center in Tupper Lake and at Well Dressed foods, where her positive attitude and incredible work ethic left a lasting impression.
Laura’s fierce determination and resilience will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to have known her. She met every day with grace and a fighting spirit. She is survived by her devoted parents, Beth Parmington Hall and Todd Hall, as well as many loving aunts, uncles and adoring cousins who will forever cherish her memory.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made in Laura’s honor to the Adirondack Health Foundation to benefit the Dialysis Unit at Adirondack Health. Checks payable to: Adirondack Health Foundation, PO Box 120 Saranac Lake, NY 12983. Or give online: AdirondackHealthFoundation.org Please make a notation that funds get directed to the Dialysis Unit.
