Laura Charline Howard February 7, 1949 – October 19, 2025

Laura Charline Howard, of Denton, Texas, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2025, in her hometown. Born on February 7, 1949, in Denton, Laura lived a life full of love, strength, and compassion.

Laura proudly made history as the first Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Denton, after completing her certification at Job Corps in Clinton, Iowa. Her dedication to caring for others touched countless lives, both through her work and her generous spirit.

She was loving, feisty, and deeply devoted to her family and friends. Laura was the daughter of Charlie Lee Bland and Laura Cordelia Franks Jackson, who preceded her in death, along with her beloved husband, Kenneth Ray Howard.

She is survived by her three children, Thomas Lee Bland, Carla Sue Howard, and Kendra Rae Howard-Garcia, along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren who will carry her memory forward with love and pride.

Laura's faith was a guiding light throughout her life. As it is written in Matthew 5:4:

"Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted."

Her warmth, humor, and courage will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.

Onward and Away.

I've had a bath.

I'm clean.

I'm ready to go.

Go where?

Says each little bird.

Somewhere great!

Where's that? She asks.

Where the white skies shine,

and the blue rivers flow.

Somewhere safe.

That's where we will go.

I see the way.

The path is clear.

My soul is ready.

The light draws near.

I see it now!!!

My time has come.

Onward I ascend,

and away I go.

My soul is free.

I'm going home.
