Laura Lee Jackson, age 87, of Ingleside, Tx passed away on March 7, 2024.
She was born in Rosita, Coahuila, Mexico on March 22, 1936 to Beatriz And Harry F. Payne.  Laura graduated from W B Ray High School, Corpus Christi, TX.
She married Willys O Jackson in 1967.  Laura and Willys owned Jaxon Company, comprising of a diesel engine repair, barge cleaning, and transporting of goods company in the port of Corpus Christi.  After Her husband passed in 1992, Laura continued to run the company, in a male dominated field, until her retirement in 2007.
She was an active member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, helping with Bingo, the Ladies Alter Society, and whenever needed.  She enjoyed playing bingo, various needle work, travel and playing the slots.
She is survived by her sister, Josephine Capeheart, and brother, Harry/Salty (Kari) Payne. She is also survived by four children, Rebecca Sousa, Aubrey McCaughan, Laury (Alan) Ivy, and Cathleen Gros; grandchildren Destiny (Justin) Anders, Justin Ivy, Anthony Whitehurst, Joshua Sousa, Jamie (James) Boggs, Daniel McCaughan, Rachael McCaughan, and Christopher(Emily) Sousa, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. Per the family, no black is to be worn.
