A gifted cook and extraordinary baker, her Christmas cookies were legendary - lovingly shared year after year. She carried forward cherished family traditions, keeping the spirit of those who came before her alive with every batch she made.
Laura loved to travel - whether it was to Hawaii, following Jimmy Buffett to the Keys or Mexico - but even more so, she loved road trips throughout the Midwest and treasured time spent with family in Hayward and Delavan, Wisconsin. She found joy in life's little adventures, whether exploring antique shops and wineries in southwest Michigan or enjoying a quiet Sunday morning in Rivers Casino's high roller room, spinning the Wheel of Fortune slots.
A tournament poker player, Laura especially loved trips to Las Vegas for the thrill of the game. She was also an unapologetic fan of The Real Housewives and Below Deck, following every franchise on Bravo with enthusiasm. Sports were another passion - Laura was a proud and loyal fan of the Cubs, Bears, and Blackhawks, cheering on her teams through every high and low.
Laura lived life on her own terms. She played the hand she was dealt with courage and grace. Her presence, her humor, and her spirit will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
