Laura M. Lian-Lesperance, born on October 4, 1951, in Brooklyn, New York. Laura peacefully departed this world on December 5, 2025, in her beloved home of Dagsboro, Delaware, at the age of 74. She was the daughter of the late Edmund and Nancy (Allen) Lian.
Laura was a cherished member of her community and a dedicated professional for the Department of Defense, where she served as the Director of Navy Lodge. Her commitment to her work and her country was matched only by her love for her family. She will be fondly remembered for her kindness, strength, and unwavering support of her loved ones.
Laura is survived by her devoted husband, Wayne Lesperance; her beloved daughter, Alice Lesperance and wife Taylor; her step-children, Caroline Gingery and husband Steven and Wayne Lesperance Jr and wife Stephanie; siblings, Roger Lian and Michelle Lian Kupfer; and her precious granddaughters, Leia Gingery and Grace Lesperance.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at Bishop-Hastings Funeral Home in Selbyville where friends and family may visit an hour before the service. Burial will be held immediately following the service at Delaware Veterans Cemetery in Millsboro for close family who would like to attend. Click here to join service via ZOOM remotely.
