Freeman Marshall Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ely Funeral Home - Neptune on Mar. 27, 2026.
Freeman Marshall

Born March 7, 1958, to Noble Satchell and Virginia Rella Marshall in Selbyville, Delaware, departed this life on March 17, 2026.

Freeman was a military veteran. After the military, he furthered his career by becoming a mason for many years. Freeman was well known and had a heart of gold. However, depending on the day and mood, you caught him in would be exactly what you got. He was well known for holding no bars.

Freeman was known as the jack of all trades, with a deep love of nature and wildlife and a passion for fishing in the ocean or any lake that drew his attention. Freeman loved family time and barbecuing; he was the grill master. At any given hour, you could hear a lawn mower crank up and know it had to be Freeman. If ever he was sitting still, there was something wrong.

Freeman leaves behind his mother, Virginia R. Doldren, and siblings: brothers Noble Marshall (Eve) Colorado, Doc J. Marshall (Bea) Maryland, and brother and caretaker, Lorenzo J. Marshall (Val) Toms River, NJ. Sisters: Viola Marshall, Neptune, NJ. Carol Edmond (Deron) Barnegat, NJ. Children: son Freeman Watts, daughter Tynisha Watts. Mother of his children, Annette Watts (Tu-Tu), and ex-wife Wanda Marshall. He leaves to cherish his 5 grandchildren, and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, great nieces and nephews, great nephews, and close friends, too many to name, but he showed all love in his own way.

Freeman will be truly missed. He came from a family with deep love for Christ, and as believers, we know that to be absent from the body is to be present with the lord. Rest well.
