Funeral Service for Laura Mannon, age 57, of Sulphur Springs, Texas will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home in Sulphur Springs, Texas. Interment will follow at Greenpond Cemetery with Jonathan Williams, Wayne Wilkerson, Levi Barnes, Cooper Standbridge, Chad Meeks, Caleb Goebel, Clint Debord, and Tommy Smith, Jr., serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Alex Gibson, Shane Mannon, Rusty Mannon, David Barnes, Eric Meeks, Casey Brown, Darren Watson. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 20024 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Ms. Mannon passed away at her home on Thursday, August 29, 2024.
Laura JoAnn Mannon was born on May 3, 1967 in Dallas, Texas to James and Deloyce (Bailey) Hickman. Laura worked in the medical field as a Certified Med Aid for many years and found great satisfaction in helping others. She loved her family and was especially proud of her children and grandchildren and enjoyed attending their events and activities to support them. Laura was an avid sports fan and could be found cheering on her favorite team The Texas Longhorns, especially when playing OU…Hook’em Horns.
Laura is survived by her daughters Jessica Williams and husband Jonathan, Minta Wilkerson and husband Wayne; grandchildren, Levi Barnes, Jocelyn Williams, Tegan Williams, Nevaeh Wilkerson, Madi Wilkerson, Piper Williams, Boo Wilkerson, DJ Wilkerson; great-grandchild, Kehlani Tyson; mother, Deloyce Thorn; brother, Tommy Smith; sisters, Kim Hutto, Debbie Goebel and husband Paul, Jackie Gibson and husband Alex; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by special friend, Don Meeks, his children Chad Meeks and wife Amy, Eric Meeks and wife Melinda, Casey Brown and wife Bre; and his grandchildren, Harleigh, Blake, Jazmine, Jeremiah, Lilly, Hazel, Dolyn, Brystol, Colt, and Ezeckiel.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marty Mannon; father, James Hickman, stepfather, Johnny Thorn; and mother-in-law, Lou Mannon.
