Laura May "Doris" Sabilia-Hotelling

Niantic- Laura "Doris"May Sabilia-Hotelling of Niantic died Friday, Nov. 22, at Bridebrook in Niantic. Laura was born Aug. 12, 1933, in Fort Smith, AR.
Laura met her future husband, Palmer Sabilia, while he was stationed in the Army at Fort Smith. She made a brave decision to leave her family in Arkansas and move to New London, CT, where she married Palmer on February 19, 1955. They were married for 42 years. She was predeceased by him.
Laura met another wonderful man, Francis Hotelling. They were married on March 3, 2000. They were married for 24 years. She was predeceased by him.
Laura was proud of her work at the Coast Guard Academy Information Center in New London. She loved to travel with both of her husbands, visiting her family.
Laura is survived by three brothers: Jimmy Graham of Hackett, AR, Carl Graham of Van Buren, AR, and Bobby Graham of Tonitown, AR. She was predeceased by her brother, William Graham of Van Buren, AR. She is also survived by two sisters: Marilyn Hollis of Van Buren, AR, and Patsy Poff of Check, VA; Laura is survived by two sons; Mark Sabilia (Jamie) of Waterford, CT, and Nicholas Sabilia (Erin) of Niantic, CT. She is survived by two daughters: Kim Gearing (Chris) of Old Lyme, CT, and Andrea Kelly of Salem, CT. She was predeceased by her daughter, Autumn.
She especially adored her grandchildren: Mike (Juli), Matt (Noel) and Nick Jr Sabilia, and Jeff Cramer (Lexi). Ben, Corinne, and Allison Sabilia, Rande Gearing, Ava and Jack Kelly, and Courtney Pedro. She has a great-granddaughter, Laney Cramer.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 3-5 pm on Sunday, November 30, at Thomas L Neilan & Sons Funeral Home, 48 Grand St., Niantic, CT. A Funeral Service will be held Monday, Dec. 1 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home, followed by burial at St. Mary's Jefferson Ave., Jefferson Ave., New London.
