Laura B. White, age 86, of Wakefield passed away at the Kaplan Family House in Danvers on February 26, 2026.
She was born in Winthrop on March 2, 1939 and was the daughter of the late Anthony and Pauline (Valanti) Biancucci.
Laura was an accomplished reporter, most recently having worked for the Boston Herald. She had also been published in USA Today, the Boston Globe, Washington Post, Readers Digest, and Women’s World to name a few. Her writing included news features, profiles, lifestyles, travel and business and she also covered foreign assignments. Laura also spent time working as an Adjunct Professor at Northeastern University. She was a devout Catholic.
She is survived by her dear friends, Donald and Janine Cook of Wakefield and their children DJ Cook of Naples, FL and Erin Brennan and her husband Brad of Wakefield and their son, Lucas Brennan, the light of Laura’s life.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Lazarus Center for Healing Shrine/St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave., Wakefield on Saturday, March 7 at 10:30am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Arrangements are in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, Wakefield.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
