Barry S. Shuster, 68, of Dartmouth passed away suddenly at home on Tuesday February 24 2026.

Born and raised in New Bedford, the son of the late Abbott and Millicent (Zeman) Shuster, he lived in Dartmouth for many years.

Barry was a graduate of New Bedford High School and Northeastern University where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Business with a minor in Latin. He later received his law degree from UMass Dartmouth.

With his entrepreneurial spirit, he founded his own business, Barry Shuster Information Services, which he operated out of a home office for 35 years.

Barry met his first wife, Carolyn Cooper in college and they married in 1981. His pride and joy were his two children, Max who was born in 1988 and Sam who was born in 1992.

A devoted member of the Tifereth Israel Congregation, he attended morning Minyan daily at the synagogue. His favorite thing to do outside of work and synagogue was to dine out at the finest restaurants in New England.

Barry is survived by his loving sons, Max Shuster and Sam Shuster, and his wife Elizabeth.

Services will be held at Tifereth Israel Congregation, 145 Brownell Ave., New Bedford Sunday March 1st at 10 AM. Burial will be in Plainville Cemetery in New Bedford. Shiva will be observed privately. Arrangements are by the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
