Susan W. Richter-Haskell, age 78, of Wakefield passed away peacefully on February 22, 2026 at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill.
She was born in Melrose on February 7, 1948 and was the daughter of the late Charles and Barbara (Hindon) Kearney.
Susan was raised and educated in Melrose. She had lived a short time in Malden before making her home in Wakefield, where she raised her children. She was a devout catholic and eucharistic minister and was a parishioner at both St. Florence Church and St. Joseph Church. Susan was passionate about her work as a licensed practice nurse and was dedicated to that trade. She most recently enjoyed her time teaching fellow nurses at Winchester Hospital. She loved her family and her home and her close group of friends.
She was the beloved wife of Peter W. Haskell. She was the loving mother of Michael Langone and his wife Colleen of Danvers, Denine Bielk and her husband James of Portland, CT, and Deborah Herrmann and her husband Leonard of Haverhill. She was the stepmother of Christopher Haskell and his wife Jenna of Somerville, Scott Haskell and his wife Lisa of Nashua, NH, and Kerri Martinez and her husband Jacob of Austin, TX. She was the sister of David Kearney of Springfield and Diane Petrucci of Wakefield. She was the adoring grandmother of Alicia, Emerson, Ryan and the late Amanda, and the great grandmother of Leonard, Thomas, and Madison.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield on Friday, February 27 at 11:30am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Arrangements are in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, Wakefield.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to High Pointe Hospice House, 360 North Avenue, Haverhill, MA 01830.
