Thomas R. Benedetto, born May 17, 1955 in Winchester, MA died unexpectedly on February 10, 2026 at the Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston, surrounded by his family.
He was the fourth son of the late Alfred P. “Gus” Benedetto and Agnes C. (Meuse) Benedetto of Wakefield. He leaves behind his loving wife Pamela A. (Mason) Benedetto, his two sons, James R. Brown and partner Jami Bruce of Wakefield and Andrew P. Brown of Wakefield, as well as his beloved Chase Dominic. Tom joins his beloved niece Danielle Benedetto in Heaven.
He was one of seven brothers: John A. Benedetto (the late) along with his wife Debra A. of Wakefield, Alfred P. Meuse and wife Lynne Benedetto of Freemont, NH, Sante M. Benedetto of Middleton, Davy R. Benedetto and wife Natalia of Wakefield, Charles A. Benedetto of Wakefield and Mark N. Benedetto and his wife Brenda of Wakefield. He leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews who meant the world to him.
Tom was an avid motorcyclist who traveled all over North America. He rode some 500,000 miles, going across the United States 22 times; as well as to Alaska, Newfoundland, Canada among other places.
Tom was the cofounder of B&G Sound Systems which was started over 50 years ago, with his best friend Phil Goddard of Wakefield. Tom loved all kinds of music but none more than Gregg Allman and the Allman Brothers Band. Tom was fortunate enough to meet Gregg Allman. Phil and Tom had many years of great times, including the opportunity to work with George Thorogood and the Delaware Destroyers.
Tommy, a former goaltender, was a lifetime hockey fan and enthusiast. He was a member of many hockey heritage societies, none more cherished than the Springfield Hockey Heritage Society.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Lazarus Center for Healing Shrine/St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave., Wakefield on Friday, February 20 at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday, February 19 from 4-7pm. Interment, Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriner’s Children's Hospital, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114.
