Lauralee Ammon Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Palmer Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Homes - Delta Chapel on Dec. 23, 2025.
Lauralee "Laurie" (Lynch) Ammon, passed away on December 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Laurie was born in Lansing, Michigan on February 14, 1938 to Lee and Alma (Lehman) Lynch.
Laurie was preceded in death by her parents; son & daughter-in-Law, Scot and Jodi Ammon; grandchildren, Chelsea Brunn and Baby Feazel; and brother-in-Law, Maurice Wischmeyer.
Laurie is survived by her husband of 62 years, John "Jack" Ammon; her children, Floyd Earl (Linda) Ammon, Jody (Robert) Frank, Lynette (Perry) Salyer; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Bonnie Wischmeyer; her brothers, Richard (Louise) Lynch and Lanny (Donna) Lynch; son-in-law Chris Feazel, as well as numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly, and a long list of friends.
Laurie graduated from Resurrection High School, Lansing, MI in 1956. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church from July of 1963 until their closing, when she became a member of Holt United Methodist Church. During the years at Christ United, she served on many committees, co-chaired rummage sales for many years. Her most important legacy at the church was her numerous years as Methodist Youth Fellowship Leader with her husband Jack, where together they mentored and positively impacted countless youths.
Her greatest loves were her husband Jack, her children, grandchildren, and roller-skating (which she gave up at the age of 69). She loved to travel and was a dedicated genealogist for over 60 years, researching the Lynch & Lehman families. Laurie was a florist and created beautiful masterpieces throughout her years. She was known for her wonderful personality, sense of humor, and her willingness to help anyone in need.
While she battled Alzheimer's in the last years of her life, we could still see her personality and spirit shine through.
Services will be held at Palmer, Bush & Jensen Family Funeral Homes Delta Chapel. Visitation will take place on Friday, December 26, 2025, from 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 10:00 am, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Laurie did not want us to be sad and wanted this to be a party, feel free to wear colorful clothing to match her personality. Interment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens immediately following the Funeral Service, with a luncheon after the interment back at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Lansing City Rescue Mission. Laurie's heart was always centered on helping others and this would be a beautiful tribute to her life. Dear First-Cousin-once-removed Lauralee, You left us a wonderful legacy with the Lehman Family Tree and many great memories of our chats and reunions! You are missed already and will be in our grateful hearts forever! Thank you for giving me the incentive to keep track of at least my immediate family, adding great-grandnieces and -nephews and marriages yearly (though it seems like monthly. . .)
