Laurel Crandall Albrecht

Laurel Crandall Albrecht, age 87, passed away on January 10, 2026, in Madison, Mississippi.
She was born on November 2, 1938, in Rochester, New York. She later met her husband, Gene Albrecht, in San Diego, California, where their life together began.
Early in their marriage, Laurel and Gene lived in Pensacola, Florida, where Gene served as a flight instructor for the U.S. Navy. During his naval career, Laurel lived in multiple locations across the United States and abroad, including time spent traveling throughout the Mediterranean. She took pride in her role as a naval officer's wife and the opportunities for travel and social connection that came with it.
In 1990, Laurel settled in Madison, Mississippi, where she remained for the next 35 years and established a circle of friends within the community.
She enjoyed travel, nature, arts and crafts, and spending time with friends. She regularly spent summers at the Chautauqua Institution with her mother, continuing the tradition until her mother's passing, where she enjoyed reading, poetry, and creative pursuits. She was also known for creating handmade clay house wall art, which she displayed in her home and shared with others.
Laurel was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Albrecht (2020).
She is survived by her sons Steve Albrecht (Kay) of Prescott, Arizona; Scott Albrecht (Marie) of Brandon, Mississippi; Mark Albrecht (Laura) of Napa, California; and Paul Albrecht (Angie) of Harahan, Louisiana; and her grandchildren Christopher, Christianne, Sara, Bryan, Kiya, Ania, Brianna, Ayden, Brooks, Graham, and Tucker.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a service at 11:00 a.m., at Sebrell Funeral Home, 425 Northpark Drive, Ridgeland, Mississippi 39157.
Interment will take place at Barrancas National Cemetery, located at Naval Air Station Pensacola, where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
