Laurel Winsome Antoinette Longshore, an 11 year resident of Indialantic, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, November 27th. She was 74 years of age.

Laurel was born on August 7, 1951 in Kingston, Jamaica, West Indies. She was the eighth of ten children born to Ernest and Pearline Chang. She immigrated to the United States at the age of 18, moving to Middletown, New York.

She graduated SUNY Albany in 1973 with a Bachelors Degree in Biology and a minor in Chemistry and earned a Masters of Business Administration with a focus in Quantitative Analysis from National University, San Diego California in 1980.

She married her husband, Julius Longshore, on September 25, 1976, in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Laurel was a 33-year resident of Dix Hills, New York, with her husband Julius, raising their two daughters, Jessica and Lindsay.

Laurel was a 40 year veteran of Northrop Grumman, working 33 years in Bethpage, NY and 7 years in Melbourne, FL. She became an expert in her field of Cost Analysis. Throughout her distinguished career as a systems engineer, Laurel received numerous accolades for her work, highlighting a life of commitment and dedication to Northrop Grumman and our country.

Laurel is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Julius; her children: Jessica Fitzpatrick (James) of Westfield, NJ and Lindsay Longshore of Seattle, WA; her 3 grandchildren: Eleanor, JP and Lucy; and 6 siblings: Barbara Bart, Robert Chang, Ernest Chang, Dennis Chang, Eric Chang and Margaret Chang. Laurel is predeceased by: Oliver Chang, Christopher Chang and Sleem Aloysius Chang. She has numerous nieces, nephews, family relatives and friends from Long Island, Florida and California.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11am and a Funeral Mass at 12pm on Tuesday, December 9th at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Melbourne Florida. A repast will be held following the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Vitas Community Connection in memory of Laurel.
