Lauri Jayne Jones, age 62, of Bessemer, Alabama, passed away on January 21, 2026.
Lauri was born on May 12, 1963, and spent her life devoted to faith, family, and the simple joys that make a house a home.
Lauri was employed with the United States Postal Service, where she was known for her dedication, dependability, and strong work ethic. Outside of work, she loved quilting, painting, gardening, and staying active. She lovingly instilled the Word of God into her son and lived her life guided by her faith.
An amazing cook, Lauri was famous for her homemade coleslaw and pecan pies, dishes that became family traditions and were requested at every gathering. She lovingly made quilts with Grandmother and Suzi for each of her great nieces and nephews, pouring her heart into every stitch. Each of them are left with a piece of her love. Her hands were always busy creating something beautiful for the people she loved.
Above all else, Lauri treasured her family. She adored her grandchildren, who were truly the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She was proud of her husband who worked hard with her to build a beautiful life. They spent so many days together tilling the ground and strengthening their love for each other. She loved Sawyer and was proud of the son, husband, and father that he was.
Lauri was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Stamps and Kay Hudson; her father-in-law, Wayne Jones; her sisters-in-law, Beth Cook, Jennifer Bullington, and Cyndi Arnold; her great-nephews, John Michael and JT Newsome; her niece, Jackie Norris; and her nephew, Scott Norris.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Patrick Jones; her son, Sawyer Jones (Twyla Jones); her precious grandchildren, Stetson Jones and Shylah Jones; and her sister, Shari Watson (Ralph Watson), Step brothers Greg Hudson and Rocky Hudson, along with many extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
