Laurie Elizabeth Andreev, 42, of Wall, NJ, departed this life on August 2, 2023. Laurie loved everyone and was loved by everyone. Everyone. After spending decades battling serious health issues, one would think the person suffering would be bitter, angry, and faithless. But Laurie maintained a positive mental attitude that was contagious. A devout Catholic with a deep love for God, Laurie was as close to a living angel as they come. Despite everything, Laurie was nothing but a bright light, an inspiration for all who met her. She was filled with nothing but goodness and love in a way that was nearly surreal. With a wicked sense of humor and a razor sharp wit, Laurie faced the scary situation she was in and stared it down time and time again. Laurie loved to surround herself with her loving (if not enormous) family who loved her with abandon. She had so many people on her team, supporting her and backing her up and she gave back with affection and loyalty. Laurie loved to play the piano, was obsessed with tornadoes and adored Celine Dion; if you don't know the story about the day Laurie met Celine Dion, family and friends will happily tell you all about it!
Laurie is predeceased by her mother Margaret Andreev (Peggy), "the cutest pup in the whole wide world" Precious, and numerous other dear family members. She is survived by her father Velo Andreev, sister Melissa Paltrowitz (Darren), grandmother Violet O'Shea, aunts Kathleen, Nancy O., Susan, Ulanki, Sada and Sandjerma, uncles Charlie, Howard, Skip, Tommy, Gary, Anthony F. and Baljer, first cousins Valerie, Bob, Beth P., Andrew, Doug, Beth L., Amy, Fred, Tracy, Bart, Toni, David R., Jessica, Katie, Matt, Danielle, Tim, Brittany, Lisa, David O., Holly, Pete, Nemo, Darma, Tony, Zanda, Ian, Tina and Brecken, and many loving family members including Billy Emmons, the O'Sheas, the Duerkes', the Arbakows, the Ivanchukovs, the Djambinovs, the Keldens, the Balsirows, the Buruschkins, the Ombadykows, the Brunners, the Reuters, the Byrnes, the Posts, Cruzzie, David P., Brayden, the Strubles, the Killians, the Huismans, the Radcliffes, the Teskes, the Emmons, Megan O., the Seefeldts, the Fosters, the Randolphs, the Tiltons, the Roppolis, the Langs, the Urubshurows, the Moschkins, Erin and Lynne, Eileen, Chantee, Frank Ciufo, the Garveys, and the Higgins family. Visitation is on Sunday, August 6 from 3-7pm at Ely Funeral Home in Neptune, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 7 at Holy Innocents Church at 10am in Neptune, NJ. Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Gatherings will be held after the wake on Sunday in Neptune and after the burial on Monday in Wall Township, all are welcome.
