Laurie Callahan McCormack, loving wife and mother, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on January 5th, 2025, at the age of 54.
Laurie was a long-time resident of Glen Rock, NJ where she was the cherished wife of John McCormack and the proud mother of two daughters, Meghan and Molly. Laurie grew up in Glastonbury CT in a loving family led by her mother Patricia Callahan and father David Callahan along with triplet brothers Mark and Mike and big sister Cheryl.
She attended Providence College, where she forged dozens of lifelong friendships including meeting her future husband John.
Laurie held roles of increasing responsibility in Human Resources early in her career, including several years at Goldman Sachs in New York City, before devoting herself full time to raising her family when her second daughter Molly was born in 2007.
Laurie was happiest when surrounded by family and friends, and the feeling was mutual. The care, empathy, and love she brought to each of these relationships elevated them all. Most cherished times were extended family vacations at Higgins Beach in Maine, summers at the Jersey Shore, and any opportunity to celebrate a milestone or elevate a loved one. Laurie was the planner in the extended family, so most of these precious family events were a result of her organization. She was the glue that connected so many friend and family groups, the one to plan the dinner, make the reservation, rent the beach house, and make it happen.
Laurie is survived by her husband, John McCormack; daughters, Meghan and Molly; mother, Patricia Callahan; siblings, Cheryl Callahan Gibney, Mike Callahan, and Mark Callahan, and many extended family members and friends who loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her father David Callahan.
The family will receive guests at Feeney Funeral Home at 232 Franklin Ave in

A mass will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at One Passaic Street
