Munden Funeral Home & Crematory - Morehead CityLaurie Ann Allen Morris, 56, passed away unexpectedly on November 15, 2025, at her home in Atlantic Beach, North Carolina. Her sudden loss leaves an immeasurable void in the lives of all who knew and loved her.
A memorial service to celebrate Laurie Ann’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, December 14th at Munden Funeral Home. Following the service, a final farewell will take place at Fort Macon State Park at the beach side pavilion, weather permitting.
Laurie Ann was born on July 12, 1969, in High Point, North Carolina, to the late Wistar I. Allen and Nancy Joan Allen. She grew up in a loving home and was a member of Emerywood Baptist Church, where her strong faith was nurtured from an early age—faith that continued to guide her throughout her life.
A graduate of High Point Central High School, Laurie Ann attended Peace College and High Point University. She developed a lifelong passion for interior design, antiques, and the timeless beauty of the North Carolina coast. Her refined eye, creativity, and appreciation for meaningful details reflected her warm and caring nature.
She will be remembered fondly by extended family and many dear friends whose lives were brightened by her kindness and presence. Among them were her lifelong childhood friends, beginning at age 4 and lasting more than 50 years.
Laurie Ann had a passion for theater and performed professionally for several years at the High Point Theater. She appeared in a successful production called Motion, which drew large crowds. She was an excellent dancer, performing with effortless grace and a style all her own. Laurie Ann was extraordinarily proud of Abigail, who shared her love for theater and appeared in multiple stage performances. She was thrilled by Abigail’s acceptance and enrollment at UNC–Chapel Hill and quickly became an avid Tar Heel fan.
Above all, Laurie Ann was a devoted mother who placed her family at the center of her life. Her love, gentle strength, and unwavering support shaped countless cherished moments that her family will hold close forever.
Laurie Ann leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, beauty, and devotion. Though her time here was far too short, the impact of her life will continue to be felt by all who were blessed to know her.
She is survived by her loving husband, Mike Morris; her beloved daughter, Abigail Southern; and her stepdaughters, Lyndsey and Sydney Morris. She is also survived by her brother, Scott Allen, and his wife, Laura; her nephew, Wistar; and her niece, Emmie Allen. Additionally, she is survived by her brother-in-law, Rusty Morris, and his wife, Angela; and her sister-in-law, Nancy Morris. Laurie Ann also leaves behind her beloved dogs, Harley and her snuggle buddy Bella.
