Laurie Ann Walker (Ritch) passed away peacefully on June 8, 2025, in Amador County, California, at the age of 65. She was born on December 11, 1959, in Bishop, California, to the late Russell and Mary (Johnson) Ritch.A proud sixth-generation Californian, Laurie's roots ran deep in the Golden State she loved. She was the devoted mother of two daughters, Amy Walker and Haley Jones (Walker), and a beloved grandmother to Susie, Erica, Riley, Jasper, Emelia, and Emmett. She is also survived by her sisters, Mary Bass and Alberta Mihm, and was previously married to Delvin Walker.Laurie lived a life full of compassion, creativity, and strength. A talented artist, she brought beauty into the world through her work and through the way she cared for others. She had a deep love for animals and rescued countless stray and injured creatures throughout her life. Laurie was a passionate advocate for wildlife, especially wolves, and dedicated herself to their protection. She was a gifted storyteller whose vivid imagination and gentle wisdom could captivate anyone lucky enough to sit and listen. Whether sharing family history, childhood adventures, or tales woven with humor and heart, Laurie had a way of making stories feel like cherished treasures passed from soul to soul.Laurie will be remembered for her fierce spirit, independent nature, and the kindness she extended to every living being. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family, the animals she saved, and all who were lucky enough to know her.
