LaVane Cloy Riggins

LaVane Cloy Riggins, 83, of Yukon, Oklahoma, passed away on February 28, 2026. Born June 29, 1942 in Oklahoma City to L.C. and Lena Mae Riggins, LaVane was a proud Oklahoman and a devoted 50-year resident of Yukon.

LaVane is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Harriet; his daughter, Heather Thomas of Yukon; and his son, Lucas Riggins and wife Heather Diane, also of Yukon. Affectionately known as "Papoo," he cherished his role as grandfather to Savannah (fiancé Jose), Kinzey, Huntleigh, and Landry. He was a proud great-grandfather to Kora, Ava, and Jace, and he also leaves behind his beloved granddog, Harley.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Gabriel.

LaVane proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968, including service in Vietnam. He worked for Chamelin Petroleum Company as a plant operator for over 20 years. He was a dedicated member of the National Street Rod Association (NSRA) for 50 years and had a lifelong passion for building and showing street rods. LaVane especially treasured the years he spent coaching his children in softball and baseball.

LaVane leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love and will be deeply missed beyond measure.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to your favorite animal charity or to Pets & People in Yukon.

A viewing will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Yanda & Son Funeral Home in Yukon, Oklahoma.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 6 at Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Yukon Cemetery.
