It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lavania Faye Eubanks, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, who left this world on August 12, 2025, just four days shy of her 91st birthday. Faye was born on August 16, 1934, in Telogia, Florida, to Colonel David and Sarah Eliza Loree Faircloth. Her life was a tapestry woven with love, dedication, and an unwavering spirit that touched all who knew her. Faye was a devoted wife to Bennett "Ben" Thomas Eubanks, Jr., with whom she shared an incredible 70 years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with joy, laughter, and unwavering support for one another. Faye's love for her family knew no bounds. She is preceded in death by her cherished husband Ben, her daughter Traycee Loree Cherry, her son-in-law Steven Allen Cherry, and her dear sister Marcia Laquita "Skeet" Shuler. The legacy of her love continues through her surviving children, Bennett Thomas Eubanks III, Shayee Eloise Johnson (Rick), and Cy Faircloth Eubanks (Wendy). Her grandchildren-Reed (Whitney), Ryan (Jessica), Blayne, Benjamin, Natalie (Preston), Audrey (Titus), Malac, Shad (Olivia), Abrey, Elam, Mackenzie (Myles), and Cydnee-were the lights of her life, along with her great-grandchildren Ty, Ella, Anna, Nolin, Laurel, Adelaide, Preslie, Auden, and Bash. Faye also leaves behind a special sister-in-law Betty Ann Cayson and several nieces and nephews. Faye's educational journey began at Liberty County High School and culminated in earning a master's degree in special education from Florida State University. She dedicated 36 years to the field of education, teaching in both the Liberty County School District and the Calhoun County School District. Her passion for teaching was only rivaled by her love for her students, and she made a lasting impact on countless young lives throughout her career. In addition to her work in education, Faye also embraced her creative side as a beautician and florist, and together with her husband, she was a licensed insurance agent/owner of Eubanks Insurance in Blountstown, Florida. A longtime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Bristol, Florida, Faye's faith played a central role in her life. Throughout her life she served in countless positions in the Church. The love she had for her Church family was evident through her compassionate service to others. She had a strong testimony of the gospel in which she shared with her family and friends and anyone she encountered. She found joy in traveling, baking, decorating her home for the holidays, and creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for her family and friends. Her passion for life and her creative spirit were evident in everything she did, leaving a lasting impression on all those fortunate enough to know her. Faye will be remembered not just for her achievements, but for the love and kindness she radiated throughout her life. Anyone that knew Faye, knew that her favorite scripture was Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." Her laughter, her caring nature, and her spirit of service will be missed by all who had the privilege of sharing in her life. A funeral service to honor Faye's life will be held on August 16, 2025. Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM EST/9:00 AM CST Saturday, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Bristol, Florida, with the service following at 11:00 AM EST/10:00 AM CST.
