Martin Cagle "Mark" Eubanks Sr.

Martin "Mark" Cagle Eubanks Sr., 77, of Rome, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. Mark was born in Jasper, GA on October 4, 1948. He graduated from Jasper High School in 1966 and after graduation he moved to Atlanta and began his career working for Trust Company Bank. Mark married the love of his life Sue on July 1, 1967. He and Sue moved to Rome, GA, and purchased Scants Corner Package Store. Mark was the owner of Branson Tractor Company based out of Rome. He was president of Silver Leaf Insurance Company. Later he took a consulting job with TYM/USA Tractor Company based out of Wilson, NC where he retired as President of Sales.

As an active member in his community, he served as member of the Rome Noon Optimist Club for 35 years where he served two terms as club president and named Outstanding Lieutenant Governor. Mark then served as governor for the state of Georgia followed by the national vice president of Optimist International. He was appointed by Judge Royal to serve on the jury commission in Rome. Mark served on the Northwest Georgia Regional Commission from 2009-2017 and on the Development Authority of Floyd County from 2010-2017.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents J.T. and Louise Eubanks, his brother, James Thomas Eubanks, Jr (Barbara), his sister, Theresa Ireland, and brother-in-law, Ron Bernecky.

Survivors include his wife Wanda Sue Eubanks and two children Tammy (Ken) Perry, Silver Creek, and Marty (Jennifer) Eubanks, Silver Creek. Mark 's greatest love was his grandchildren, Levi (Megan) Perry, Ansley (Kyle) Pope, Brandt Eubanks, Gage Eubanks, and Brinley (Cole) Ray. His great grandchildren Braxton, Tucker, Marlee, Olivia Pope and Lander and Stetson Ray. He was one of six children, Mark is survived by sister Sharyn Bernecky, Smyrna, Betty (Melvin) McGill, Silver Creek, Ronald (Brenda) Eubanks, Marietta, brother-in-law Grady Ireland, Marietta, and his sister-in-law, Pat Youngblood, along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 12:00pm until 1:45pm.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, February 21, 2026, in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, with Pastor Jerry Dudley officiating.
