Norma Faye Dryden Easterwood

1935 - 2026

Ms. Norma Faye Dryden Easterwood, age 90, of Rome, GA, passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at a local hospital.

Ms. Easterwood was born in Alabama on September 9, 1935, daughter of the late Fred Dryden and the late Mable Ayers Dryden. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, James Robert Easterwood, and by her sister, Eloise Barnett. Ms. Easterwood was a graduate of Tallapoosa High School and attended Jacksonville State University. For over 65 years she was the matriarch of Rhinehart Equipment Company. While classifying herself as the secretary and bookkeeper, she kept the place running with her constant presence, her social skills, and her amazing recollection of most every customer she had served. Ms. Easterwood loved traveling (especially to her house in Tennessee), country music, and reading. Nothing, however, compared to the love she had for her family. Ms. Easterwood loved her boys, but her grandchildren and great grandson were the light of her life.

Survivors include her 2 sons, Mark Easterwood (Carrie), Atlanta, and Scott Easterwood (Janet), Powder Springs; 4 grandchildren, Michael Easterwood, Erin Easterwood, William Easterwood, and Abbey Easterwood Bottomley (Walker); a great grandson, Warden Bottomley; and numerous other family members who she loved dearly.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, with the Rev. Greg Locklear officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12pm until 1:45pm at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel.

Pallbearers are to assemble by 1:30 on Tuesday at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, and include: Michael Easterwood, William Easterwood, Walker Bottomley, Keith Fountain, Joe Foster, and Wayne Evans.
