Her journey took her from California to Florida, where she spend many years before settling permanently in Sarasota in 2000. Intelligent and quick-witted, Jean had a sharp sense of humor and a strong presence.
She had a fondness for animals, especially cats, and quietly cared for local colonies near her.
She will be remembered for her strength, her independence, and the unmistakable spark that made her who she was.
"She lived boldly, without apology. Her spirit remains free."
