Harold Mansfield Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Toale Brothers Funeral Home & Crematory - Colonial Chapel - Sarasota on Feb. 26, 2026.
Harold Douglas "Doug" Mansfield, 76, of Sarasota, Florida, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2026.

Born on June 24, 1949, Doug lived a life defined by intelligence, hard work, humor, and deep love for his family. Though his given name was Harold Douglas Mansfield, anyone who knew him simply called him Doug - and to know him was to love him.

Doug was the proud owner of Tool and Die facilities in Sarasota, Florida and Muncie, Indiana. He was a brilliant and driven businessman whose sharp mind and strong work ethic built not only successful companies but lasting respect from those who worked alongside him. He was often described as the smartest man in the room - yet he never missed an opportunity to make someone laugh. His quick wit and sense of humor were gifts he shared freely.

Outside of work, Doug found his greatest joy in the outdoors. Whether riding side-by-sides, spending time in nature, or sitting quietly on the porch watching God's creatures, he appreciated life's simple and meaningful moments. He loved deeply, laughed easily, and lived fully.

Doug is survived by his devoted wife, Nikki Mansfield; his children, Julie Slentz, Brian Mansfield, Brandon Starner (Diondra), Cody Starner, and Whitney Baillargeon (Brian); his twelve beloved grandchildren - Brad, Kayleen, Bentley, Brantley, Kirah, Mariah, Skyla, Weston, Derek, Mason, Avery, and Luna; and his three great-grandchildren, Jackson, Waylon and Zoey.

He leaves behind a legacy of strength, wisdom, laughter, and unwavering love for his family. His presence filled every room, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Doug's life was a blessing. His memory will be a treasure. He will be loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Doug's memory to Tunnel to Towers Foundation .
