Lavern Mae Williamson, 84 of Lodge Grass, MT, peacefully went to Heaven on November 3, 2025, in Billings, MT. She was born on March 17, 1941, to Dexter "Hub" Williamson, Jr., and Lorraine Laura Morrison in Crow Agency, MT. She was a member of the Piegan clan and a child of the Newly Made Lodge. LaVern was raised in Benteen on the Williamson Ranch until being fortunate to be taken in by her grandparents, Allie and Marcia Young Curlew Morrison, and growing up in the Big Horn Mountains and the Buffalo Pasture. Raised with her were her brother Garlon, sisters Garnet Watan and Lorraine Bear Cloud.
LaVern attended school in Lodge Grass up to 8th grade, which made education important to her, so she was very vocal to her children and grandchildren to finish as she couldn't. She was a homemaker who instilled cleanliness in all her daughters and nieces.
She was married to Morris Big Lake, Sr., and later divorced.
She is preceded in death by: her 2 Grandsons: Toddy and Alan Curtis, Her Parents Dexter "Hub" and Lorraine Williamson, Grandparents Allie & Marcia Morrison, Dexter, Sr. and Maude Williamson, Aunties, Caroline Miller, Babe Carpenter, Gloria Medicine Crow, Maude Yarlott, Ethel Not Afraid, Uncles, Tommy, Alvin Jr., Floyd and George Morrison. Brothers Garlon and Melvin Paul Williamson and Alvie Morrison, Chuck Yarlott, Franklin "Tee" Red Wolf, Larry Kane Morrison, Sisters, Ada Horn, Olive Yarlott, Lorraine Bear Cloud, Mary Bonko, Charlotte Spotted Horse, Linda Ten Bear, Victoria Crooked Arm, Rosalia Stewart, Elsie Leider, Laura Rides Horse, Children Sharon Lee, Morris Jr., and Maria Rose Big Lake, Nieces Fairalee Williamson, Susan Doll Horn, Ella Buffalo, Crystal Caroline Little Light, Gladys Babe Takes Horse, Nephews Champion Takes Horse, Joe Buff, Johnny Shotgun Buffalo, Melvin Jr., JayR and Arron Williamson, Tony Joe and her very best friend Nellie Moccasin.
She is survived by her daughters; GloriAda, Janet Jean, Cecelia Big Lake, Becky Graham and Junetta Jefferson, Paulette Not Afraid. Sons Porgey Old Elk, whom she adopted in 1974, and Chase Coulee (Christina) Williamson, adopted son Sam Stevenson. Nieces Melveen Paula, LaVern Laura, Loretta Jean, Trudy Margaret, Olivia Rose, Mary Lorraine, and Jonella Pauly. Nephews Ronald Al, Elmer Dean, Michael OC, Marvin Dean, Christopher King, Hub Binion, Jasper Wade, Ross, Jackson (LeeAnn) Pretty on Top, and Jay Weigand. Brothers Ronnie Crow, Alvin Oliver, and Aaron Yarlott, Tommy Carpenter, Benito and James Morrison, Tom Dually LaForge, and Dino (Gene) Hernandez. Sisters Senora Jean, Garnet Watan, Delmyrna and Tina Yarlott, Beldean Plain Feather, Marcia Brown, Tori Half, Francine, Davine and Linda Morrison, Crystal Arna Takes Enemy, and Kay Tobacco. Her Beautician, who became a Dear Friend, June Lix Graham. Grandchildren: Her oldest living grandchild, Jewelz Jongary, Maureena LaRocque, Sandra, Adrian, Cameron Three Irons, Marny Jo, Lamar, Todd Alan, Weston Jay, Kiesha, TymerMo, Tatyonna, David Melendrez, and Ronald Flatmouth Jr., Brooke Medicine Bull, and Gary Stevenson. Great Grandchildren: Stratton, Arcee, Luvleigh LaVernamae, Savannah JoFancy, Dion, Lilly Teague, Adrianna, Genesis, Mikayla, Lamar Jr., Ziza LaReign, Zephinia Gloria, Joshua Zaza James, and Zeikel Tecumseh Ross. The Great Great Grandson: Lycan Cash Williamson.
Extended Family: Williamson, Morrison, Yarlott, Medicine Crow, Not Afraid, Falls Down, Bad Bear, Wilkinson, Hugs, Iron, Carpenter, Don't Mix, Mountain Sheep, Watan, Nomee, Venne, Whiteman, Old Horn, Bear Cloud, Old Coyote, Bad Boy, Pretty Weasel, Walking Bear, Red Wolf, Old Crow, Spotted Horse, Bear Ground/Stewart, Fire Bear, Alden, Big Lake and the Decedents of She Kills of New Town, ND.
