LaVerne A. Hutterer, age 94, a Manitowoc resident, died May 7th, 2025 at Shady Lane.
LaVerne was born on May 2nd, 1931, daughter of the late Jerome and Anna (Shimek) Hutterer. She was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School with the class of 1949. LaVerne worked as an office assistant at Mirro and Imperial Eastmans. On October 6th, 2006 she married Richard J. Messar in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on May 9th, 2013. LaVerne and Richard loved to travel and took road and bus trips all over the United States. She enjoyed shopping while Richard golfed and then meeting up for dinner afterwards.
Survivors include her nieces and nephews: Brian Hutterer, Julie (Tim) Nelson, Lisa Nickisch, Lori (Rick) Sieracki, Kevin Hutterer, Keith (Deanna) Hutterer and Peter Hutterer; one special cousin: Judy (Aloyce) Seidl; along with other relatives and friends.
LaVerne is preceded in death by her spouse: Richard Messar; brother: Allen (Edna) Hutterer and her parents.
LaVerne's family wants to give a special thank you to her Shady Lane Nursing Care Center caregivers and Sharon Richardson Hospice staff, especially, Shayna, Sam and Amy for the care you provided.
A funeral service will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 16, 2025, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 126 S Packer Dr., Francis Creek. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Christain Raj. Burial will take place in St. Anne Church Cemetery at a later date.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Friday afternoon from 3:00 p.m. until the time of Mass at 4:30 p.m.
